These applications have for their purpose the rejection of the independent nominating petition, heretofore filed in the office of the board of elections, purporting to nominate Earl Browder as a candidate for Representative in Congress from the Fourteenth Congressional District of New York, at the special election set for February 6, 1940. One of these applications is made by Hon. John J. O’Connor, a former Representative in Congress from this State, and the other by Hon.
