This is the second appeal by Collins in this case. The first was dismissed in Collins v. Miller, 252 U. S. 364, for want of jurisdiction. There the earlier proceedings and the nature of the controvérsy are fully set forth. After our decision the case was again heard by the District Court, on the same record and the same evidence; and on October 25, 1921, judgment was entered. By that judgment the writ of habeas corpus was granted, so far as the commitment was based on charges of obtaining property by false pretenses from Pohoomull Brothers and from Ganeshi Lall & Sons; and as to these…
