Appellee P. G. Rateliffe made, executed, and delivered to the appellant, the Home State Bank of Humeston, two promissory notes. One was for the amount of $200, dated November 7, 1924, and the other $3,450, dated February 12, 1925. Both instruments were due and unpaid at the time this action was commenced by the Home State Bank, appellant, as plaintiff, against P. G. Rateliffe and Ethel Rateliffe, appellees, as defendants.

Apparently, the present indebtedness grew -out of business transactions between P. G. Rateliffe and the bank,' which began as far back as 1918. During this period, appellee…
