This appeal was to the Galveston Court of Civil Appeals, but transferred to this court by the- Supreme Court. Annie Jones, appel-lee, wife of Ed Jones, deceased, filed this suit in the district court of Harris county against American National Insurance Company, the city of Houston, and appellant, Sylvia Wilson Reedy, to recover $1,000, the proceeds of an insurance policy of group insurance issued by the American National Insurance Company to the city of Houston, for the benefit of. the employees of the city of Houston. The policy, on its face, was payable to “Sylvia Wilson, friend,” meaning…
