In an action for damages for the alleged breach by defendant of his promise to marry her and for seducing’ her under such promise, plaintiff obtained a verdict and judg'-mept against him for $8,000.00.
When the case was called for trial January 20, 1922, the defendant moved the court to continue the case to a future day of the same term, on two grounds; first, the sickness of one of his attorneys, who on that occasion was unable to be present; second, the absence of a witness, an aunt of the defendant.
