PROCEDURAL HISTORY/ISSUES

Defendant-appellant, William Grooms (Grooms), was convicted of two counts of Grand Theft by Disposal of Stolen Property; count one involved a beaded Indian dress and count two involved a horsehair headstall. He was sentenced to serve eight years in the penitentiary on each count, the sentences to run consecutively. Appellate counsel was not trial counsel.
