HATCHETT, Chief Judge:
Appellant-petitioner John Freund appeals the district court’s denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. In 1985, a Florida state court jury convicted Freund of first-degree murder for the 1984 stabbing death of Ralph Walker. The crux of Freund’s petition was that he was deprived of his right under the Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments to effective assistance of trial counsel because his lawyers labored under significant conflicts of interest that stemmed primarily from their prior representation of Freund’s non-testifying,…
