On a trial by jury in the Criminal Court of Greene County, the petitioner was, on the 7th day of August, 1919, found guilty of murder in the second degree, and her punishment assessed at imprisonment in the State Penitentiary for a term of ten years. Subsequently, on August 11, 1919, sentence and judgment in accordance with the verdict were formally pronounced, and thereafter, at the same term of court, she was allowed an appeal to this court and admitted to bail pending the appeal.
