Appellant was convicted of capital murder that was committed on or about October 26, 1995. V.T.C.A., Penal Code, Section 19.03(a)(2). At the punishment phase of trial, the jury answered the special issues in such a manner as to require the trial court to sentence appellant to death. Article 37.071, Section 2(b) and (e), V.A.C.C.P. The trial judge sentenced appellant to death pursuant to Article 37.071, Section 2(g). Direct appeal to this Court is automatic. Article 37.071, Section 2(h).
