John Friday appeals from a judgment convicting him of possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver, in violation of sec. 161.41(lm)(b), Stats. The issue is whether certain evidence seized from Friday’s car should \ be sup*704pressed as the fruit of an unlawful search.1 We conclude that the warrantless search of the vehicle was illegal and that the evidence should have been suppressed. We therefore reverse.
