HOOD, Associate Judge.

Defendant appeals from a conviction on a charge of assault allegedly committed upon a woman seated next to him on a streetcar.1

The woman, who was the only witness for the Government, testified that she was a passenger on a streetcar'; that defendant seated himself be.side 'her; that while his hand was protected from view by his coat and a newspaper he put his hand up under her dress and upon her leg between her knee and hip; that being greatly embarrassed and anxious to avoid attracting attention to herself and having previously intended leaving the streetcar at the next…
