h STATEMENT OF CASE

On November 14, 2013, the defendant, Alfred Everette, was indicted for the second degree murder of Ernest Smith in violation of La. R.S. 14:3o.!.1 On December 3, 2013, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty at his arraignment. On December 2-4, 2014, after a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty as charged. The defendant filed motions for post-verdict judgment of acquittal and for new trial, which were denied on February 11, 2015.
