*585Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Lamont, J.), rendered March 31, 2000 in Albany County, upon a verdict convicting defendant following a nonjury trial of the crime of murder in the second degree.

Following a nonjury trial, defendant was convicted of depraved indifference second degree murder (see Penal Law § 125.25 [4]) for the death of her baby girl shortly after giving birth without assistance at home in the Village of Altamont, Albany County, on the evening of March 24, 1997.
