We granted the petition for writ of certiorari presented by Owens Corning Fiberglass Corporation (Owens Corning) and *455Porter Hayden Company (Porter Hayden), petitioners, to address three issues arising out of verdicts rendered against them in a consolidated asbestos-related personal injury action in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
