1Opinion of the CourtSpallone, J.

The defendant takes this appeal from the judgment rendered after his conviction by a jury of the crimes of sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-70 (a), and risk of injury to a minor child in violation of General Statutes § 53-21. He raises only one claim of error, that the trial court abused its discretion in admitting testimony by his wife that, subsequent to the defendant’s arrest, she *654found magazines in the defendant’s private room in the basement of their home which contained sexual pictures involving children.
