PONDER, Justice.

The relator, Eugene O. Bourgeois, brought mandamus proceedings against the respondents, Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, hereinafter referred to as the University, and the president and secretary of the University, as individuals, seeking to compel them to reinstate him as assistant professor of romance languages in the University and to recover $2,540 with legal interest for salary which he claims is due him for the academic year 1941-1942.
