Humberto and Olga Sepulveda, a married couple, brought suit for the mental anguish they suffered over the death of Patricia, their unborn child, which they claim was caused by a doctor’s negligence. By giving the Se-pulvedas’ pleadings a strained reading, the Court today sidesteps precedent and grants the mother a cause of action for the wrongful death of a baby.
