Sonny Rome brings this post-conviction appeal from the Kootenai County district court. In March 2016, Rome moved for post-conviction relief from his aiding and abetting a burglary conviction, claiming counsel was ineffective under Strickland v. Washington , 466 U.S. 668 , 104 S.Ct. 2052 , 80 L.Ed.2d 674 (1984). In support of post-conviction relief, he challenged counsel's performance at both the trial and direct-appeal phases.
