At a meeting of the city council of the city of Cape May, held on July 9th, 1895, the following ordinance was adopted, to wit:

“An ordinance regulating the speed of passenger cars operated by trolley or electric power in the streets of the city of Cape May.
“Section 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the inhabitants of the city of Cape May in council assembled, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That hereafter all passenger cars operated by trolley or electric power, within the limits of the city of Cape May, shall not run…
