In September 2004, a jury convicted defendant, Martel Montgomery, of armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/18 — 2(a) (West 2004)), conspiracy to commit armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/8 — 2(a) (West 2004)), aggravated discharge of a firearm (720 ILCS 5/24 — 1.2 (West 2004)), and home invasion (720 ILCS 5/12 — 11(a)(3) (West 2004)).
