Defendant Jose Villegas was convicted of murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1(a)) and armed violence (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 33A — 2) and received concurrent terms of 50 and 30 years, respectively.
