As President since May 2023, Gregory Smirin directs Muon Space, Inc.’s commercial strategy, operations, and organizational growth. His role integrates customer engagement, commercial execution, and operational scaling to support Muon Space, Inc.'s rapid trajectory and market expansion.
Smirin earned a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College. Notably, he was COO at The Climate Corporation—where he scaled the business from 19 to 600 employees and saw it through a $1.1 billion acquisition by Bayer—and CEO at Scuba Analytics, with senior operating roles at eHarmony, Proofpoint, and VeriSign.
As Co-Founder and VP of Engineering since March 2021, Paul Day leads all hardware development and spacecraft integration at Muon Space, Inc., oversaw the acceleration of time-to-orbit, and established high-throughput production workflows critical to the company’s competitive advantage.
Day holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. from Carnegie Mellon. He served as Chief Product Officer at Loft Orbital, was an Engineering Program Manager at Apple’s Special Projects Group, and managed technical teams at Google’s Terra Bella, specializing in major constellation hardware and launch operations.
As Co-Founder and Chief Scientist since March 2021, Dan McCleese drives Muon Space, Inc.’s scientific direction, mission architectures for earth observation, and the development of climate monitoring algorithms that set the company apart in remote sensing applications.
McCleese holds a D.Phil. in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Oxford. Previously, he was Chief Scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Principle Investigator for the Mars Climate Sounder, and chair of the MethaneSAT Science Advisory Group at the Environmental Defense Fund.
Since April 2025, Ryan Gray has overseen Muon Space, Inc.'s financial operations, capital strategy, and risk management. He has been instrumental in scaling investments in infrastructure and R&D to support the company’s ambitious growth plans.
Gray’s career includes CFO roles at Planar Systems (NASDAQ) and Powin Energy, and senior finance positions at Tektronix, Merant, and Radisys. With over 25 years of finance leadership, Gray brings deep expertise in capital markets, operational excellence, and strategic scaling.
Appointed in July 2025, Paula Trimble leads Muon Space, Inc.’s federal strategy and government partnerships. She has secured streamlined acquisition pathways and expanded the company’s engagement in defense, climate, and space awareness missions.
Trimble earned her B.A. from Penn State University and held senior policy roles at the DoD Space Development Agency, Rapid Reaction Technology Office, and worked on commercial space policy initiatives at the Departments of Commerce and FAA.
Since July 2025, Carl Nardell has led systems engineering and mission design for Muon Space, Inc.’s satellite platforms. Nardell’s leadership has enabled high-performance, resilient satellite systems for commercial and government markets.
He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University. He was previously Principal Engineering Fellow and Chief Engineer at Raytheon, as well as a Technical Program Manager at Google’s Terra Bella.
As VP of Product since June 2025, Gautier Brunet shapes product strategy and operational roadmaps across hardware and software, aligning teams to deliver Muon Space, Inc.'s integrated Halo™ capabilities.
Brunet holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.Sc. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, and an engineering degree from CentraleSupélec. His prior roles include VP of Business Development at Loft Orbital and COO at ThrustMe, with engineering experience at Airbus and the European Space Agency.
Since July 2025, Shirley Paley has managed Muon Space, Inc.’s legal, regulatory, and governance functions, advising on M&A, global compliance, and IP strategy in support of the company’s expanding international footprint.
Paley holds a J.D. from NYU School of Law and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. She has served as CLO at Formlabs, General Counsel at Catalant Technologies, and in senior legal roles at Demandware and Sonus Networks.
Appointed VP in November 2022, Dallas Masters leads the Signals of Opportunity Program, leveraging GNSS and opportunistic signals to enhance Muon Space, Inc.’s earth observation data products and analytics.
Masters earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and B.S. from Trinity University. Previously, he led Spire’s Earth Observations/GNSS team, was a Research Scientist at CU Boulder and NCAR, and conducted advanced satellite altimetry research.
